At Del Rainbow, we acknowledge our capacity to make an impact within the Fashion Industry. The fashion industry is one of the highest-consuming industries in the world so we have partnered with Carbon Neutral Australia to improve our sustainable attributes.
Del Rainbow is now carbon neutral. This means we are removing our carbon footprint entirely by offsetting our carbon emissions through partnership with Australian company, Carbon Neutral.
Carbon Neutral is an environmentally aware organisation. A carbon offset (or carbon credit) is generated from an activity that prevents, reduces or removes greenhouse gas emissions from being released into the atmosphere to compensate for emissions occurring elsewhere. Through this program we purchase carbon credits which Carbon Neutral use to plant native trees in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor annually to offset our carbon impact. Del Rainbow offsets 47 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. This includes daily staff travel, freight, water, electricity, office consumables , waste etc.
Additionally for every invoice raised within Del Rainbow, Carbon Neutral will plant a tree on our behalf. The minimum threshold for this program is 189 trees per year.
